Is that what clients want is VALUE - from their service provider. And VALUE is determined by (is in the eye of) the beholder (just like love). Value has nothing to do with our (the provider's) perception, what we do to create it and we can't determine it. Nothing is more obvious to me as we travel through Switzerland and France. We as practitioners and Veterinary nurses, all want to be able to practice the best Veterinary Medicine that we are capable of - without the constraints applied by finances. Unfortunately (and increasingly so - especially over the last few years), we are seeing more and more budgetary constraints being a concern of the owner, with a consequent increase in the 'wait and see' approach to treatments and an increase in the number of economic euthanasias....
